• Underdosing benzodiazepines in status epilepticus may contribute to resistance. Generally, for adult patient: start with Lorazepam 4mg IV and may repeat for a total of Lorazepam 8mg. Initial Midazolam dosing is 10mg IM/IV. • Remember that POCUS can improve the rate of success of LPs and reduces the number of traumatic taps. NNT= 11 patients • Non-cutting needles (Whittacre, Sprotte) compared to conventional lumbar puncture needles (Quincke) reduces risk of postdural puncture headaches and need for blood patch. NNT = 14 • CSF can help diagnose SAH if RBCs don’t clear/reduce by ⅔ from Tube 1 to Tube 4, if there is presence of xanthochromia, or absolute RBC of 2,000 in CSF
