Anne Arundel County Fire Department
Resident physicians are welcomed and encouraged to ride along with various components of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department (AACoFD). AACoFD clinical opportunities include experiences with front line ALS response units, EMS supervisors, the medical director 911 dispatch center, Training Academy, or at local/state EMS meetings. AACoFD is a fire based, all hazards response agency. Over 30 fire stations, positioned strategically throughout the county, provide operational, administrative, and logistical support for emergency and non emergency responses (see below). The rotation can be tailored to the resident's specific interests.
A waiver of liability must be completed at least two weeks prior to your rotation. Please email the EMS ride along coordinator, PM Jason Moore and copy the AACoFD Medical Director, Dr. Jon Wendell, on the completed waiver. This process ensures ease of scheduling and a coordinated EMS experience: EMS Ride Along Waiver
Dr. Jon Wendell has also authored a brief introduction to the rotation. The attached document provides information on station location and ride along etiquette. Please review the guidance document prior to your rotation.
