• An intrauterine sac without a visible yolk sac is a pregnancy of indeterminate location. • Most ectopic pregnancy hCGs will only increase ~25% in a 48hr window but be wary as about 20% will increase like a regular IUP and some will decrease like a miscarriage. • Free fluid in the abdomen, empty uterus, and beta-hCG in discriminatory zone is an ectopic until proven otherwise. • When the hCG does not rise appropriately even in early pregnancy or the hCG level does not correlate with LMP do the ultrasound.
