A Little About Me

Why did you choose UMEM?
I chose UMEM for a number of reasons – during my away rotation here I was very impressed with how invested leadership is in resident education. Weekly conference here is a major highlight, and if you listen to EMRAP, most months, you’ll hear a familiar voice. Moreover, the University of Maryland boasts one of the few programs in the country where I can train simultaneously in Emergency and Internal Medicine, and stay for a sixth year to gain board-certification in Critical Care Medicine. My eventual goal is to split time between the ED and ICU, and UMEM will uniquely prepare me to do that.

Favorite movie(s):
My favorite movie genre is probably psychological thrillers/classic horror, like The Prestige, Memento, Se7en, Inception, Sixth Sense, etc. A close second would be fantasy, such as Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, or expanding into TV, Game of Thrones and West World.

Hobbies:
I’ve been getting back into reading for pleasure, which has been facilitated by Audible. Recent listens include The Wheel of Time, The Witcher, Treasure Island, and I’m currently working on Broken Earth and Dune. I also enjoy cycling and golfing when time permits.

Favorite Baltimore Restaurant:
Favorite burger so far – Keystone Korner. Best environment/outdoor seating Broadway Market vs Choptank in Fell’s. Shout out to Yoya Sushi in the hospital, who makes a mean poke bowl.

Residency/Hospital/State/National/etc committee involvement, and leadership positions held:
I'm looking to join the UMMC Sepsis committee and the EMIM PEC.
