Welcome to UMEM and the Combined Pediatrics-Emergency Medicine Residency!! You might wonder how I got to Baltimore. Well, I grew up in Wisconsin and rowed crew at University of Wisconsin getting to travel for races. Then I went to St. George's University in the Caribbean and did my rotations in NYC. I knew I wanted to do Pediatrics and be like George Clooney (AKA: Dr. Ross) and work in Emergency Medicine as well. After clinical rotations I was still undecided between Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics, so I did the next best thing...BOTH! I love the diversity and change of pace of rotating between both programs. I feel very fortunate for the calibery of cutting edge emergency education I get with this program.

I love Baltimore because it has the best of the Midwest (friendly, a small feel big city) and NYC (plenty to do). I bought a rowhouse near Patterson Park so my dog and I could have a large backyard near the water and downtown. Hiking trails and creeks are 20 minutes away for us to enjoy. Travel from Boston, NYC, Philadelphia/Poconos, and DC and far away lands is easy with Amtrak, I-95, and BWI airport! My co-residents are my family and I couldn't ask for a better group to drink microbrews, eat wings and crab dip, and do trivia.

Baltimore, EM-Peds, and the University of Maryland have been a perfect fit for me. Feel free to contact me with questions.
