Medical School:
Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Med
I grew up in Yorktown Heights, a cozy little suburb just north of NYC with quite possibly the worlds best people and pizza. I went on to college at UMass Amherst where I met my amazing fiance, Owen, was a lacrosse goalie, wrote my thesis on childhood obesity, and earned my business degree. It was actually a DO doctor who treated my sports injury there that turned me on to Osteopathic medicine.
I went to med school at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine Bradenton (or LECOM-B for less of a mouthful!) down in sunny Sarasota, Florida- why not go to med school with palm trees, year round sunshine and siesta key?!
I've always known that I was meant to end up working with kids, and during my clinical years as a student I fell completely in love with the intensity and dynamic of emergency medicine- I'm still trying to wrap my arms around the idea that I somehow ended up where I am right now.
My first few months at UMaryland have completely flown, but they have been full of all admirable, brilliant senior residents who are always willing to help, nationally and even globally respected faculty that are all very approachable, lectures that are current, relevant and very well delivered, and just tons and tons of top notch learning experiences and support.
I was a little nervous about moving to Baltimore having come from NY, but it's actually a very cool city with sooo much great food and some awesome areas to walk my puggle Charlie (one of the two loves of my life!).
I can't say enough about UM and the Peds/EM combined program, so please, please ask me any questions you may have!!!
