Academic Activities and Responsibilities

UMEM is amazing! I enjoy going to work every day and I am repeatedly reminded about how fortunate I am to train at one of the best programs in the world. The residents all share a common conviction to learn and manage patients to the best of their abilities. These convictions are mirrored by the faculty's amazing commitment to teach and mentor. We are privileged to work alongside and learn from the top educators in Emergency Medicine. The faculty's amazing expertise and reputation is matched equally by their friendliness, compassion and inviting personalities.

I knew very little about Baltimore when I moved here from South Florida but I am constantly surprised and pleased with the city. There are great restaurants and bars along with almost weekly festivals at the many neighborhoods around the hospital. It is easy to find something to do on days off. The city offers a safe and fun environment to enjoy while also offering a tremendously underserved and unique population that we have the privilege of treating at a variety of the area's hospitals.

I spend much of my free time in the Fell's point area where I can walk my dog along the harbor or enjoy some great food and drinks right on the water. There is also a great opportunity to hike and take in the outdoors just a few miles from downtown. When I find myself with the unusual extended time off it is easy to drive or catch a bus or train to D.C, Philly or NYC.
