Academic Activities and Responsibilities

I am a born and raised Michigander and completed all of my education up until Residency in my home state. Between undergrad and medical school I spent a year teaching English in France. Having worked as a Unit Tech in a local ED throughout my undergraduate years I knew going into medical school that I had very strong interest in Emergency Medicine. During medical school I was involved with founding a community group that focused on teaching members of an inner city community how to cook and eat healthy. I also participated in several research projects.

Why I chose UMEM for Residency:
-- Hands down some of the best faculty in Emergency Medicine.
-- This program places a serious focus on quality resident education.
-- The residents are down to earth, friendly, and supportive of one another.
-- Patient population with high acuity and broad pathology
-- Good relationships with off-service rotations.

When I'm not working I love traveling, doing pretty much anything outdoors including but not limited to skiing, backpacking, camping, hiking, kayaking, speaking foreign languages, learning about personal finance, and of course hanging out with my co-residents.

Research Interests

-- Emergency Medicine bedside ultrasonography
