R. Gentry Wilkerson, MD, joined the emergency medicine faculty at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 2012. Earlier in his career, he was the Director of Research for the Emergency Medicine Residency Program at the University of South Florida in Tampa. His research interests include allergic reactions, angioedema, congestive heart failure, sexually transmitted infections, and ultrasound. He is currently the site principal investigator for a multicenter trial assessing the efficacy of icatibant for the treatment of ACE inhibitor-induced angioedema. He is also a site sub-investigator for multicenter trials assessing the efficacy of serelaxin for the treatment of congestive heart failure and evaluating the role of procalcitonin for upper respiratory tract infections.
