Research Interests

Kyle Fischer, MD, MPH, FACEP is an emergency physician and fellowship director in health policy at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He works clinically at University of Maryland Medical Center and University of Maryland Prince George’s Hospital Center. Broadly, his interests lie at the intersection of emergency care, public health, and public policy.



 



Dr. Fischer possesses health policy experience with both non-profit organizations and state and federal legislatures including Wisconsin, Maryland, and the United States House of Representatives. He received a combined MD/MPH from the University of Wisconsin as well as completed University of Maryland's Fellowship in Health Policy and Leadership.



 



Dr. Fischer utilizes his public health and policy experience as the policy director for a The Health Alliance for Violence Intervention. At the HAVI, he leads the organization in coordinating, developing, and advocating for evidence-informed policy to end community violence at both the state and federal level.
